With the Christmas season just around the corner, the annual Christmas decorations will be coming out soon. Even though the kitchen is the heart of the home for many families, it is sometimes overlooked when it comes to Christmas décor, so make sure you give your kitchen some Christmas cheer this year!
Here are our top tips for dressing your kitchen this festive season:
Think you have nowhere to put decorations because they will interfere with the big Christmas dinner feast? Don’t worry - where there’s a will there’s a way! Most kitchens have a window and all have kitchen cupboards. Tinsel, garlands and ivy can be easily draped up high so that there is no interference with the turkey making.
Your cabinet doors are crying out for some décor! Their flat surface enables you to put pretty much put any type of decoration on the front of them, from wreaths to a smiling Santa, reindeer to snowmen. Jazz up your cupboard frontage to get everyone in the Christmas spirit!
With a piece of ribbon tied to a light fitting or curtain rail you can instantly give your kitchen that Christmassy feel with a dangling bauble. You can even use a drawing pin to attach sparkly baubles to the ceiling if you desire a fuller effect.
Table / worktop dressing
If you have a dining table and / or breakfast bar, don't forget to dress that too with candles, little Santa Clauses, chair covers or maybe even some mistletoe perched above the table.
Just because you may have your main Christmas tree in your living or dining room doesn't mean that you can’t have another one! If you’ve got space for a full size tree then go for it! If not, a cute small tree on the worktop or on the window ledge will brilliantly capture the occasion.
Make sure you spruce up your kitchen this Christmas so you feel festive whilst cooped up in the kitchen cooking and consuming the traditional turkey dinner.
